Thelbert Clinton (Clint) Davis, 78, of Riverview, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on April 3, 2020. He was born in Tampa, on May 20, 1941 and moved to Brandon in 1974, relocating to Riverview, 38 years later. He was the beloved husband of Anna King Davis for almost 50 years and father to two sons, Darren, (Julie) and Barrett (Jeff). He leaves behind grandchildren, Alyssa, Katie, Kristin and niece, Tiffany. He was preceded in death by his father, Thelbert, his mother, Lucille, and his sister, Cheryl. He was a 1959 graduate of Hillsborough High School and received his AA degree from Hillsborough Community College. He served 4 years in the Navy as a radioman, E-5, before joining Southern Bell Telephone, then merging with General Telephone, where he met his wife and retired after 30 years. He was a Master Mason starting with A.W. Windhorst Lodge 185 in 1970, then transferring to the Brandon Lodge where he had many good friends. He also enjoyed working in real estate along with his wife. He loved the beach, spending time with family and before kids, he would take his wife camping and tarpon fishing, which she loved more than he did. Such a fun guy who was loved by so many with his sparkling blue eyes and great sense of humor. He became a Christian at a young age and it showed in the way he treated others and loved his family. The words in the song, I CAN ONLY IMAGINE, provides comfort, knowing he is in the arms of Jesus and his body is whole again. Services at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell will be private due to the COVID-19 federal restrictions on public gatherings.
