Skye Anna Marie Taylor, 17 years old, passed away on March 24th, 2019. Tragically, Skye was hit by a car while riding her longboard to work in or near the bike lane. We take comfort in the fact that the doctors said she was likely brain dead on impact and did not suffer nor feel any pain. We thank God for his mercy on Skye.
Skye was not only beautiful, but she was very smart too. Skye was in her senior year of high school. Skye was a great, hardworking student and she made her parents proud with her 3.0 GPA. Although Skye was only 17yrs old, she was on an accelerated pace and was set to graduate from Spoto high school on May 29th, 2019. Skye was proud to have received acceptance into Hillsborough Community College to start college this Summer 2019, where she planned to complete her prerequisite and enter the Radiology program in Fall 2019. Skye loved the health care field, was passionate about helping others, and dreamed of continuing on towards one day becoming a licensed Radiologist. Skye also had a part time job at Publix supermarket, where she displayed her values of good work ethics. Also, Skye was looking forward to attending her Prom on March 30th, 2019 with her sweet, supportive boyfriend Daniel Echevarria.
But Skye was much more than her outstanding academic accomplishments. Skye overcome great adversity in her childhood. At 13years old, the courts removed her from her birth mother and Skye was placed up for adoption while living in a girls group home. It was at this group home that Skye meet her future forever family, where she was adopted by her parents Kathryn and Ricardo Acevedo. Her parents love her more than anything in the world, and she was their only child. Her parents want the world to know that Skye touched the lives of everyone around her. Skye was a kind selfless soul, that would always give to others, who also united different people of different backgrounds everywhere she went. She lived and enjoyed life, each and every moment. She had a heart of gold, she brought peace, love, and happiness everywhere she went. She always had a positive outlook and good attitude. She was very respectful, helpful, loving, appreciative, kind, and goofy too! Last and most importantly, Skye had a deep, beautiful faith and she knew Jesus. We know she’s in Heaven.
Skye is survived by Kathryn Acevedo (Mom), Ricardo Acevedo (Dad), Christi Vila (Maternal Grandmother), Edward Vila (Maternal Grandfather), Paul Vila (Maternal Uncle), Carmen Acevedo (Paternal Grandmother), Blas Acevedo (Paternal Grandfather), Melanie Acevedo (Paternal Aunt), and Daniel Echevarria (Loving and adoring boyfriend).
Also, a funeral service will be held for Skye. However, the family wishes to keep this a private event, whereby all services are closed to the public, and attendance will be by invitation only. Thank you for honoring the family’s request.
