Obituary for ROSIE JO MATHIS

Rosie was born in Suches, Georgia on October 17,1935. She was a very kind hearted and hard working woman. She never asked for anything nor did she ever complain. She was always there to lend a hand or an ear. Rosie worked for Hav A Tampa cigar factory for 35 years. She enjoyed her job and all of the people she met along the way. She would tell stories of her many years of friendships made and lessons learned.
Rosie is survived by her  brothers Larry Harkins, Austin Harkins and Joseph Harkins:   sisters  Sandra Snelgrove, Gwen White and Ruthie Davis; daughters Brenda Greenhalgh, Nona Pearson, Freda Barrow and Sheila Montgomery;  seven  grandchildren; Fifteen great- grandchildren ; 3 great-great grandchildren and many other extended family members.
Rosie was preceded in death by her father  William Joseph Harkins; mother  Rosebud Harkins; sisters Carol Phillips, Janie Maupin and Sarah Thornton; husband Albert “Pete” Mathis;  grandson Charlie Pearson  and great-granddaughter Ashton Bass.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date due to safety concerns. We would like to thank all of our friends and family for the kind words and prayers during this difficult time.
