Obituary for Richard Thomas Mahon, Sr.

Richard Thomas Mahon Sr. ( Dick / Dickie), 80, of Riverview, FL passed away peacefully on February 9, 2019 at the James Hailey VA Hospital.

Richard Thomas Mahon Sr. was born in Quincy, Ma. , November 14, 1938 to Donald and Helen Mahon. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1959.

Richard worked as a Maintenance Supervisor at the Wilson Company before retiring in 2012. He was a hard working man who raised 5 kids by himself. He loved a good joke, a good action movie and also loved spending time at his favorite place, AJ’s on the River. His favorite past time was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a loving father and a great friend and will be missed by all.

Richard is survived by his children; Cynthia Burns, Richard Mahon Jr., Lisa Wood (Glen Wood), Mark Mahon, Kristina Willson ( Richard Willson), Vincent Nuccio. Grandchildren; Brandy Spradling (Joseph Spradling), Nina Mahon, Colby Willson, Mark Mahon Jr., Jennifer Burns, Dustin Burns, Kyle Willson and Michael Wood. He also has 9 great grandchildren. Brothers; Donald Mahon and Jack Mahon.

Richard was preceded in death by Nina Rockholt Mahon(wife), Donald and Helen Mahon ( parents), Helen Triantafellow, Gerry Trent and Eunice Chevaroli (sisters)

The family of Richard T. Mahon Sr. would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all the staff at James Haley VA hospital for the care they provided to our Dad. We would also like to extend our sincerest thanks to the staff at Brandon Crematory for their guidance and professionalism.

The Internment will be held February 22, 2019 at 12:30pm
