Joan was a fun loving, strong willed woman who spent her life loving her family. She was born in London, England and during WWII; she and her family were forced to seek shelter in the underground subways of London when their house was bombed. Joan and Carey were married in Broadstairs , England in 1957 and in 1958 they had their only child Terry Lee Ashworth. In 1960 they moved to Carey’s home town of Westboro, Mass about 30 minutes outside of Boston. Mom worked at a restaurant at the local golf club and also at Massachusetts Electric part time. Her full time love was taking care of her large farm house and cooking. Joan made some of the best spaghetti sauce that you may have been lucky enough to taste. In 1984 Joan and Carey moved to Brandon Florida to escape the cold New England Winters and she spent the remainder of her 85 years in Valrico. Joan was an avid Patriots and Red sox fan and never missed a televised game.
