Obituary for DOUGLAS E. BROWN

Doug was born in Dayton, Ohio to George and Myrtle (Warren) Brown, Sr. Doug grew up with his five brothers and sisters and his nine cousins in Ohio, Florida and Indiana. He settled in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and had four children with his previous wife. Doug moved to Florida in 1980 and sub-contracted for several fence companies. In 1985, Doug met his current wife, Lori Jean (Hansen) and they were married on October 4, 1986.
Doug was a fence-man his whole life and could install any type of fence you would want. He established two fence companies, Doug Brown Fence Company in Ft. Wayne, In. and Suncoast World Plastics in Seffner, FL. He was always very innovated and began producing and installing plastic fencing in the early 1990s.
Doug was a kind, loving and generous man. He loved to fish, especially salmon fishing in Michigan where shared many happy, fun times with his Indiana cousins, brothers-in-law, nephews, daughter, sons and his beloved black Labrador, Sam. Doug also enjoyed gambling – whether it was the dog track, Jai-alai, playing bingo with Grandma Warren or the slot machines. Doug was always ready to hit the big one!
Doug is survived by his wife, Lori Jean; his four children, Debra York (Auburn, IN), Douglas W. Brown, Kenneth Brown, and Charles Brown all of Fort Wayne, IN; his 10 grandchildren and 11 great-children. Additionally, his brothers and sister, George (Connie) Brown, Jr. (Kettering, OH), Beverly Arvai (Tampa, FL), and Michael (Tony) Brown (Tampa, FL); his father-in-law, John Earley (Seffner, FL); his brothers and sisters-in-law, Esther Hansen, (Moline, IL), Kurt (Sherrill) Hansen (Blue Grass, IA), Becky Lynn (Dallas) Kissinger, Sr. (Fond du Lac, WI), Hollie (Scott) Blakeley, (Brandford, IL), Steve (Rita) Earley, (Marseilles, IL), Dave (Cheryl) Earley, (Fond du Lac, WI), Don (Andrea) Earley, (Germany), and Jodie (Robert) Melton, (Groveland, IL). Doug was a fun, loving uncle to his many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Doug was preceded in death by his parents; special grandmother, Estell Warren; two sisters, Sheila Hamilton and Teresa Stefano; mother-in-law, Helen Earley; father-in-law, John Hansen; and brother-in-law, Mark Hansen.
Family and friends will gather on March 7, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Apostles Lutheran Church, 200 Kingsway Road, Brandon, Fl. 33510. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Apostles Lutheran Church.
