On August 11, 2018, Carol J. Regal, of Valrico, Florida passed away at the age of 83. Carol was born in Camden, NJ to Dorothy (Glassmire) and Charles E. Williams.
She spent her first 16 years living on a farm in Barrington, NJ, until her family moved to Cross Keys. She attended Haddon Heights and Glassboro High School.
Carol worked at Rutger’s University in Camden, NJ before starting her favorite job, court clerk and dispatcher for the Runnemede, NJ police department. She retired from the Gloucester County Board of Social Services on the same day as one of her best friends, Carrell, and they both moved to Florida. Peggy, another coworker and wonderful friend, followed several years later.
Carol was a Mom, Nana, a GG, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She is survived by her loving daughters, Cheryl Cunard and Patricia Johnson. She loved her kids but her grandkids and great grandkids stole her heart. She leaves behind 2 cherished grandchildren, Melissa (Mike) Hocko and Jeffrey (Samantha) Denham and 3 awesome great grandchildren, Brooklyn Rose, Dylan Michael and Carly Lynne.
She is also survived by her baby brother, Dale (Patricia) Williams, 4 nephews, Michael, Scott, David and Steven and a sweet niece, Jennie. Edward Pita was her partner and a wonderful friend. Also, many cousins and a multitude of good friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Art, her brother, Rev. Charles (Chick) Williams, and her granddaughter, Chelsea. I know they were there to greet her in heaven and what a celebration they will have!
Carol loved her life in Florida. She enjoyed going on cruises and was a shuffle board champion. She was known for her kind and compassionate spirit, her selflessness and her love for the color orange. She loved Bingo, dominos, country music and reading, but her passion was playing cards. Pretty much every night, she was up for a rousing game with whoever would play.
Carol loved flip flop decor, jewelry and clothes, however she never wore flip flops. “I hate that thing between my toes!”
Holidays were spent at Carol’s house. All her friends would help make a feast and everyone was invited. Of course, the evening would culminate in an exciting game of cards.
Mom, you are perfect.

Love and miss you, Carol. But I have sooo many memories of the good times we’ve spent together – card playing, shopping, eating, and laughing. Holidays just won’t be the same without you as our hostess and friend. Thank you for being a wonderful friend. Renae
