Obituary for Andrew G. Carreira

Carreira, Andrew G., 66, of Tampa, passed away peacefully December 6, 2017. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Andy was a truly loyal, fun loving, and no-fuss kind of guy. He loved golfing, fishing, hunting, and driving around in the woods in search of new hunting spots with his friends.  He loved having people over for parties so he could show off his master grilling skills, and he loved to make people laugh and have a great time. More than anything else, Andy was a family man. He worked hard at his 32 year plus job, from which he retired at GTE/Verizon. He proudly served his country with the US Army, and he remained patriotic and loyal everafter. He was a calm and loving man. He will be missed everyday by those who are heartbroken by this loss. Andy was preceeded in death by a son, Shawn. He leaves behind his wife of 42 yrs Peggy; daughter Christina; 8 grandchildren, Jordan, Rayne, Camren, Kaidyn, Jaedin, Eithan, Adasyn, Landon; 3 brothers, Joe, Danny, Steve; and 2 sisters, Debbie, and Cheryl; as well as many loving family members and great friends.

Going to miss Andy, wish I had kept up with him over the years since our school days in elementary school, junior high and high school. I lived down 17th street and many times Andy would come over to play after school. In the seventies my wife(Terri) and I bought a puppy from him and his wife. He always had a smile on his face. I am so sorry to hear about Andy’s passing. I know all of us Montgomerys are going to miss him.
